"RIDE WITH PRIDE"

Hello, welcome and thanks for stopping by our site. Our founding members, including myself, began S&I because we couldn't necessarily find a Firefighter Motorcycle club that fit our specific needs. The end result of our search is we initiated our own organization that sought to exclude morale crushing politics and get back to the grass-roots of "why we do what we do." I've been a Professional Firefighter for almost ten years now and have learned (and continue to learn)quite a bit from those I've served with. The chorus of that song has been an enormous sense of pride in what Firefighters do each and every day. The "job," as we refer to it as, is much more than a career field check box on a job application. Those that understand this can grasp much more than the words in which I type. The pride of our calling reaches deep inside every true Firefighter and is not a flame that can be extinguished. That same pride is not merely a goal, but a prerequisite to being a Smoke and Iron member.
What we found in establishing Smoke and Iron is we have been open to accept anyone who understands the pride, professionalism and service in which we, as Firefighters, stand for. Our organization seeks to have a good time with our members, other clubs and the public while pursuing the interests of needful individuals and organizations.
Though we are a fairly new club, we are looking forward to a future of growth and success. I thank you once more for stopping by our site and welcome any emails including comments or suggestions.
Fraternally,
Michael Hayes, President S&I FFMC
